Petrol or electric children’s quad bike?

Electric children’s quad bikes run quietly, are easy to operate and do not require handling petrol or carrying out routine combustion engine maintenance. When choosing one, the main factors to consider are motor power, battery capacity and voltage, range and power adjustment options.

Petrol children’s quad bikes are particularly suitable when you want longer running times without waiting for a battery to charge. Depending on the model, they may also offer higher power and cater for more experienced riders. However, you will need to allow for regular checks and maintenance of the engine, fuel system and other mechanical parts.

How to choose a children’s quad bike

Choosing the right quad bike starts with the appropriate size and power. Your child should be able to sit comfortably on the vehicle, reach the controls safely and handle the quad bike in line with their abilities and experience. When comparing models, we recommend paying particular attention to seat height, overall dimensions, vehicle weight and load capacity, engine or motor power, wheel size, brake type and options for limiting power or speed. The most powerful model is not automatically the best choice for a beginner. It is more important that the quad bike’s specifications suit your child’s abilities and allow them to gradually gain experience in controlling the vehicle.

Safety when riding a children’s quad bike

Children should ride under adult supervision and with appropriate protective equipment. A properly fitting helmet is essential; gloves, sturdy footwear and other protective equipment are also recommended. Before riding, we recommend checking the condition of the quad bike, especially the brakes, tyres, steering, throttle control and other important components. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and intended use for the specific model.
