Workshop tools for servicing motorcycles and quad bikes

The right tools can make servicing a motorcycle or quad bike much easier. Whether you are changing a tyre, cleaning a chain, checking valve clearances or removing a clutch, a suitable tool helps you work more accurately and avoid unnecessary damage to parts.

In this category, you will find fitting and servicing tools for motorcycles, pit bikes, mini motocross bikes, quad bikes and other vehicles. The current range includes 38 products, from basic spanners and tyre levers to pullers, gauges and specialist tools.

Tyre levers for motorcycle tyres

Tyre levers are essential equipment for removing and fitting tyres by hand. The range currently includes versions measuring 24, 30 and 40 cm in length, as well as versions with plastic or rubber-coated handles.

The right length depends on the type of wheel and tyre, and the space available to work in. Care is needed during fitting to avoid damaging the rim, tyre or inner tube.

Chain tools

As well as regular lubrication, a chain needs cleaning, tension checks and, when necessary, servicing or replacement.

You will currently find chain cleaning brushes, a chain cleaning device, chain breakers and other chain tools here. The range also includes a riveting tool for 25H chain.

When working on a chain, always use a tool suited to its specific type and size.

Spark plug spanners and other servicing spanners

Spark plug spanners are another essential motorcycle tool. The range includes, for example, 17/19 mm and 19 mm versions, alongside other specialist spanners.

You will also find tools such as a clutch spanner and a shock absorber spanner. When choosing, it is important to consider the correct size and the design of the specific part you will be working on.

Engine and clutch pullers

For some engine repairs, a standard set of spanners is no longer enough. Specialist pullers allow certain components to be removed more safely.

The current range includes, for example, a 75/100 mm three-jaw puller, an M28 flywheel puller with an internal thread and a clutch puller for 49 cc engines.

With pullers, the correct thread size or attachment is crucial. Using an unsuitable tool can damage the thread, shaft or the part being removed.

Gauges for checking valve clearances

Feeler gauges are used when servicing engines with mechanically adjusted valve clearances. This category currently includes a set of 13 gauges for measuring valve clearances.

The correct valve clearance depends on the specific engine. There is therefore no single universal value for all pit bikes or quad bikes – always refer to the specifications for the engine in question.

Tyre valve and tyre repair tools

Minor problems with a tyre or valve can sometimes be dealt with in the workshop or while out riding. The range includes tyre valve tools, a tyre inflation adaptor and inner tube and tyre repair kits.

A repair kit is a particularly useful addition to your garage equipment or kit for longer rides. However, suitability always depends on the type and extent of the damage – not every tyre or inner tube should be repaired.

Threadlockers for threaded fasteners

Vibration is a normal part of running single-cylinder engines and off-road vehicles. For some threaded fasteners, the manufacturer may therefore specify the use of a threadlocker.

The category currently includes products such as K2-PROLOK MEDIUM-245 and HIGH-270.

Different types of threadlocker do not have the same properties. They differ in strength and method of use, so it is important to choose a suitable product for the specific joint and follow the recommendations of the vehicle or component manufacturer.

Tools for servicing front forks

Suspension maintenance can also require specialist tools. The current range includes, for example, a 45–55 mm front fork cleaning tool, designed for use around the fork seal.

During any suspension servicing, it is important to keep everything clean and take care around the surfaces of the fork sliders and the seals.

Which tools are useful in a home motorcycle workshop?

You do not need a fully equipped professional workshop to carry out routine maintenance. You can gradually build on a basic toolkit to suit your vehicle and the repairs you want to carry out yourself.

Alongside standard hand tools, useful items often include a spark plug spanner, tyre levers, a chain brush, gauges, tyre valve tools and suitable tools for removing specific parts.

It makes sense to buy specialist tools according to your vehicle's design – a flywheel puller with the wrong thread, for example, will be no help during a repair.

The right tools help protect spare parts

Improvising with a hammer, pliers or an unsuitable puller can turn a simple repair into a much more expensive problem. When working on the engine, wheels, chain or suspension, use tools suited to the job.

This is particularly important for threads, bearings, shafts, sealing surfaces and other precision-machined parts.

If you do not feel confident carrying out a particular repair or do not have the necessary equipment, it is safer to leave it to a professional workshop.
