Not sure what size of quad bike to choose for your child’s age and height? Our clear categories make it easier to choose the right size for young beginners as well as older, more experienced riders. When choosing, use age only as a guide. The most important factors are the rider’s height, their experience and the dimensions of the particular quad bike, especially the seat height and the overall size of the vehicle.

Refine Your Selection
When choosing a children’s quad bike by age, it is worth remembering that children of the same age can differ considerably in height, experience and physical ability. Age is therefore best used as a general guide. To make the right choice, we also recommend considering the rider’s height, the seat height, the quad bike’s overall dimensions and the child’s experience. Smaller riders and beginners are generally better suited to more compact quad bikes with simpler controls and the option to limit power or top speed. As riders grow taller and gain experience, they can move on to a larger, more powerful model.
A child should be able to sit naturally and comfortably on the quad bike. They must be able to safely reach the handlebars, throttle lever and brakes and have enough room to sit correctly and control the vehicle. A quad bike that is too small may be uncomfortable for a taller child, while an unnecessarily large vehicle may be harder for a beginner to control. When comparing models, pay particular attention to the seat height and the quad bike’s overall dimensions, and assess these against the intended rider’s height and experience.
For a child who is just starting to ride, we recommend prioritising easy handling and an appropriate level of power over the highest possible speed or engine power. Features that allow parents to limit power or speed, depending on the model, can be an advantage.
A more experienced rider can gradually move on to a larger, more powerful quad bike, but their abilities and physical build should always be taken into account.
Browsing quad bikes by age helps you narrow down the range, but it is not a universal rule that applies to every child. Before ordering, we always recommend checking the specifications of the particular model rather than relying solely on the recommended age.
