The chain drive transfers engine power to the rear wheel, so its condition and adjustment directly affect how the whole vehicle operates. The chain, front sprocket and rear sprocket work together as a system, and it is advisable to check all these components during maintenance. In this category, you will find chains and chain drive parts for pit bikes, mini motocross bikes, minibikes, quad bikes and other vehicles. The range includes almost 370 products, from chains and rear sprockets to connecting links, tensioners, guides and chain rollers.
When choosing a chain for a pit bike or mini motocross bike, selecting the correct type and size is essential. The range includes various chains designed for different vehicles and chain drives. Before ordering, we recommend checking the original chain's designation, number of links and compatibility with the front and rear sprockets. The current range includes, for example, KMC 420H chains with 138 links in several colours.
Many children's and junior quad bikes, buggies, motorised bicycles and electric vehicles also use a chain drive. However, individual models may use different chain types, so you cannot choose solely by engine capacity or power output.
For example, two quad bikes with similar power outputs may have different chains, rear sprockets and front sprocket tooth counts.
The front sprocket, often also called the drive sprocket, transfers power from the engine to the chain. The range includes various designs with different tooth counts, mountings and chain types – for example, sprockets for T8F or parts intended for minibikes and electric vehicles.
When choosing, check not only the number of teeth, but also the chain type, shaft diameter and design, splines or thread, and how the sprocket is secured.
The rear sprocket is the sprocket at the rear wheel and, like the front sprocket, must match the chain used and the specific wheel or hub. The current range includes sprockets for 420 series chains, among others, as well as other designs for various vehicles.
When replacing one, check the number of teeth, chain type, centre bore diameter, number of mounting holes and their spacing.
If you want to change the number of teeth from the original gearing, bear in mind that this will alter the gear ratio and therefore the way the vehicle behaves.
Changing the size of the front or rear sprocket allows you to adjust the final drive ratio. As a general rule, a larger rear sprocket or a smaller front sprocket gives lower gearing, while the opposite change gives higher gearing.
In practice, this affects the balance between acceleration, driving force at the wheel and the speed achievable at a given engine speed. However, the result depends on the whole vehicle, engine power, gearbox, wheel size and load.
So, if you are simply replacing a worn part and do not want to alter the vehicle's characteristics, the easiest option is to retain the original number of teeth.
When fitting or repairing a chain, you may also need a chain connecting link. This must match the specific chain type and size.
Choosing a connecting link that looks similar is therefore not enough. Its designation and design must be compatible with the chain used.
Correct chain tension is important for both function and service life. This category therefore includes chain tensioners for pit bikes, ATVs and motorised bicycles in various designs.
The chain must be neither too loose nor too tight. Always set the correct slack according to the design and recommendations for the specific vehicle, then also check that the rear wheel is correctly aligned.
As it moves, the chain works alongside other chassis components. Chain guides, sliders and rollers help keep the chain on its intended path and protect other parts of the vehicle from contact with it.
The current range includes, for example, nylon chain sliders, swingarm covers, guides and chain rollers for pit bikes.
A worn slider or roller is a relatively small part, but it is worth checking their condition during regular servicing.
The chain needs regular inspection, cleaning, lubrication with a suitable product and adjustment of its slack. Over time, however, it wears along with the sprockets. During inspection, pay particular attention to uneven chain stretch, damaged links, stiff spots and wear on the teeth of the rear and front sprockets. If all parts of the drive are significantly worn, it generally makes sense to address the chain and sprockets together. A new chain running on heavily worn sprockets may wear out unnecessarily quickly.
The easiest starting point is the original chain's designation. Check its size series, number of links and design, then verify compatibility with the rear and front sprockets.
If a new chain has more links than the specific vehicle requires, its length can be adjusted during fitting, provided the chain type allows this. Suitable chain splitting and joining tools are used for this purpose.
